Willard Scott, media personality and author, best known for his work on NBC’s “The Today Show” as a weatherman and "Smucker's" spokesperson. In the 1980’s a “hoax” was played on the townspeople of St. Marys claiming Willard Scott was coming to town to do the weather. When Mr. Scott heard of this “hoax” he decided to come anyway. He visited the Riverview Hotel and saved the day for the heartbroken folks of St. Marys, signing the register book on the desk in the lobby. We love you Willard!
